Go therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the age. Amen (Matthew 28:19-20, NKJV).

Hillcrest Baptist Church’s Mission

missionsAt Hillcrest, we desire to know Christ and to be His light to all nations and all generations. This means that we want to follow the Lord Jesus Christ’s command to effectively minister to people of all nations, whether they live right here in our community, across the world and anywhere in between.

Southern Baptist Mission Efforts

In 1925, the Southern Baptist Convention established the Cooperative Program. The Cooperative Program – CP Missions – enables all Southern Baptists to work together to support missions efforts world-wide.

Through the International Mission Board, Southern Baptists support 4,946 missionaries in 153 different countries. Your gifts and prayers resulted in 451,000 new believers baptized in 2000 outside of North America.

Southern Baptist’s support of CP Missions allowed the North American Mission Board to send out 5,081 missionaries in 2008 and help start over 1,700 new churches.

The mission to spread the Gospel began with a handful of believers in Jerusalem. Guided by the Holy Spirit, their mission was to take this good news to Judea, Samaria, and even the remotest part of the earth. With the help of the same Spirit, we strive to continue their mission – to take the Gospel to all people everywhere. There is no greater task than to deliver the message that God saves sinners through Jesus. It is our joy to share the Gospel in a variety of ways locally, throughout New Mexico and around the world.
